Over the last 10 years I have worked hard to achieve a reasonable level of kit. As I enjoy two main genres, landscape and wildlife my kit reflects the needs of each subject. Latterly, my interest has turned to film, a welcome addition! I have managed to purchase cameras I could only dream of and now have a collection which includes Rollei’s and a Bronica.
A compromise camera! Waited too long for an upgrade to the Nikon D300s, but find the D7100 an extraordinary camera. With the absence of it’s AA sensor filter it gives terrifically sharp images and especially good for wildlife and birds in flight. If I had to criticise it then it would be the pathetically slow buffering, which is glacial in speed when taking RAW images which I always do. However, I have learned to live with this and my results are pleasing to my eye anyway.
The “WOW” camera. If you’ve heard of it, no explanation because anything I can write cannot fully do it justice.
Fuji X-E2 + 18-55mm f2.8-4
A gem of a mirrorless camera with its superb 18-55mm f2.8-4 lens. I have exchanged my Nikon 1 V1 kit for this and I have to admit it is a formidable small go anywhere camera. It’s a small camera punching well above it’s weight, even equaling my Nikons. I hope to acquire the 55-200 and 10-24mm lenses soon.
